How to Save Time with Microsoft Copilot Vision
Microsoft’s AI tool can help by answering questions about whatever is showing on your phone screen or a web page in Edge.
Microsoft’s Copilot Vision AI is a helpful tool that looks at what’s on your screen and gives you quick answers or summaries. You can use it on your phone to check a camera view or paper, and on a computer to understand a web page. It reads the screen and gives you useful help based on what it sees.
You can use Copilot Vision on iPhones, Android phones, and in Microsoft Edge on a computer. Some features are free for everyone, but others need a Copilot Pro subscription. Everyone can use Copilot in Edge to check a web page, but you need Pro to use Copilot Vision on a phone.
Copilot Vision works on most websites, but not on harmful, adult, or locked pages that need a login or payment. If a site isn’t supported, you’ll see a grayed-out icon and Copilot won’t talk about that page.
To protect your privacy, Copilot doesn’t save your screen or requests. Only its own replies are saved briefly to check for safety, and everything is deleted after the session ends.
Copilot Vision also lets you talk using your voice. You can have a natural conversation and choose from eight different voices. You can even make it talk faster or slower.
When you’re done chatting, go back to the main screen and tap the menu (three lines) to see your recent chats. Tap the first one to read the conversation you just had.
With Copilot Vision on your phone, you can get help with real-world things like photos, artwork, clothes, animals, plants, and printed papers. On a PC using Edge, it can give you info about web pages. Here’s how I use it to save time on both my phone and computer
Use Copilot Vision on your device
Let’s start by seeing how Copilot Vision works on a phone or tablet. To use it on an iPhone or Android, you need a Copilot Pro subscription. If you don’t have the Copilot app yet, download it from the App Store or Google Play. Then, open the app and sign in with your Microsoft account.
Tap the microphone icon at the bottom to open Copilot Voice. Then tap the eyeglasses icon to switch to Copilot Vision. Point your phone at a person, place, object, or paper. You can ask Copilot to describe or explain what it sees.
You can also ask questions about the item, and Copilot will answer based on what it sees. Here are some examples.
For web, open the Edge browser on your computer and sign in with your Microsoft account. Go to any web page you want Copilot to look at. Click the Copilot icon at the top right, then click the microphone, and then the eyeglasses icon. You can ask Copilot to summarize the page or answer questions about it.
